Our Values
Women in Engineering Leadership Development is a group focused on creating a supportive network of students, alumni, faculty, and industry leaders. The goal of this network is to instill confidence in one another, in order to help each of us reach our full leadership potential. We hope to be able to help each and every member of our group to have a capable mindset and focus on everyone's unique and individualized leadership skills so that we all can become true leaders in any and all of our groups and activities.
This organization is important for Women in Engineering because of the current state of Engineering: as a predominantly male occupation, where Women are not put in leadership roles. We are trying to change that narrative, and involve both women and men that are supportive of equal representation in the industry of engineering. We are trying to turn these disadvantages into advantages in the workplace, because there is power in numbers, and the more people we have on the side of equality is important in moving in the right direction.
